If she can why can’t YOU ?

Tanisha Mehta, a cute little angel who is just 11- year-old is pursuing her schooling from Jamnabai Narsee .A dog lover. She owns a pet dog named Fudgey (Cocker Spaniel). She believes that they are the most faithful and the most lovable thing that has happened to her. She prefers whiling away time with her best friend fudgey than spending on other things. Her mom states “They are the partners in crime and most mischievous but in a way which makes them happy.” During her schooling, she was asked to write an essay about friends and that’s when she chooses to write on Fudgey who means the world to her.

This tiny little tot, thought of doing something for the one she treats her best friend on friendship day and make a little difference on these Animals. That’s when she started a small little campaign for these stray dogs. By helping 3 of these dogs being sterilized and achieving more than what her goals were. INR (4300 in which her goals were just 3600). Sterilizing helps to protect these dogs from a horrible and painful stray life.

A better world through kindness to animals is what she believed. And SOS was the right answer. Save our Strays is an animal welfare NGO that has been protecting the stray animals of Mumbai for over 10 years. They provide strays with many services like sterilization, vaccination, first aid, adoption, rescue services and providing food.

When a tiny tot at the age of 11 could save 3 strays. We could definitely do something more.

Tigi Foundation is a wonderful non-profit organisation begun by Nuzhat Khan in 2012 and is supported by her son, actor Imran Khan, and brother, activist/actor Aamir Khan. No Horsing Around, Please

5. Horse Carriages

The Mumbai traffic police have passed scheduling limitations for Victoria rides and banned them altogether in Colaba and other parts of the city.

The progress comes after years of appeals to authorities by PETA India, People for Animals and the Animals and Birds Charitable Trust. It also follows the actions of PETA India supporters who have all written to authorities, tweeted or starred in ad campaigns calling for a ban on the inhumane Victorias.

Mumbai’s horses have been forced to haul passengers in blistering heat and pouring rain and are denied adequate shelter, rest, food and water. They are typically housed in filthy, unlicensed and decrepit stables, when they are provided with any shelter at all. Even if they are injured or ill, they are still forced to work. Most never see a veterinarian during their entire lives. Horses have collapsed in the middle of traffic, leading to fatal accidents, including the death of a 3-year-old child who was thrown from a carriage in 2010 after a passing car startled a horse.

In spite of the new traffic police ban and timing restrictions, horses are being made to ply illegally in banned locations and during banned hours. If you spot horses being made to haul carriages in violation of this Mumbai police directive, file an FIR with the police and share a copy with PETA. Although the location and timing restrictions mean progress for these animals, only a full ban on the use of Victorias can ensure that cruelty to horses will stop.
